The biggest astrological shift of the past month? Uranus finally leaving Taurus after eight long years and moving into Gemini.
Uranus is the planet of upheaval, rebellion, and the unexpected—I often refer to it as the wild card. Taurus, on the other hand, is a fixed sign: steady, resistant to change, devoted to routine, so it’s not exactly the easiest terrain for a planet that thrives on disruption. Gemini, though, will be a different story. As a mutable sign, it’s flexible, curious, and far more open to movement and innovation.
As part of my ongoing astrological self-study, I’m always reflecting on my chart in relation to the major moments in my life. I’m less interested in using astrology as a tool for prediction—sometimes you need to live through a transit to truly understand what it’s here to teach you. I wasn’t so deep in astrology at the start of this transit, though, so I didn’t think much of the impact it might have. According to Astrology Cafe, Uranus in the first house is a “time of monumental changes to your outlook on life and the manner in which you project yourself to others. Freedom of expression is deeply important to you now. You are making breaks from elements from your past that have limited your freedom or that have kept you from expressing your individuality. This is a time when you are more willing to take personal risks.”
From quitting my dream job to going viral on the internet, I’ve kept a running document where I log pivotal moments and track the transits happening alongside them. So, with the help of my camera roll, I went back through the last eight years to see how Uranus reshaped my life.
